Build Your First AI Assistant

Creating an AI assistant on Assisters is simple. This guide will walk you through the entire process, from account creation to publishing.

Prerequisites

Before you start, you'll need:

  • An Assisters account (sign up free)
  • Content to train your assistant (documents, guides, FAQs)

Step 1: Create Your Assistant

  • Log in to your dashboard
  • Click "Create New Assistant"
  • Fill in the basic details:
  • Name: Choose something memorable and descriptive
  • Description: Explain what your assistant does
  • Category: Select the most relevant category

Step 2: Upload Your Knowledge Base

Your knowledge base is what makes your assistant unique. Upload:

  • PDF documents - Guides, manuals, ebooks
  • Word documents - Articles, research
  • Text files - FAQs, notes
  • Images - Documents with text (we use OCR!)

Pro tip: The more quality content you upload, the better your assistant will perform.

Step 3: Configure Settings

Customize how your assistant responds:

  • Tone: Professional, friendly, casual
  • Response length: Concise vs. detailed
  • Focus areas: What topics to prioritize

Step 4: Test Your Assistant

Before publishing, test thoroughly:

  • Ask questions about your uploaded content
  • Try edge cases and unclear questions
  • Verify responses are accurate
  • Adjust settings based on results

Step 5: Publish

Once you're satisfied:

  • Set your pricing (or make it free)
  • Add tags for discoverability
  • Click "Publish to Marketplace"

Your assistant is now live and ready to help users!

Tips for Success

  • Keep content current: Update your knowledge base regularly
  • Monitor feedback: Check reviews and improve based on user feedback
  • Promote your assistant: Share on social media and with your audience
  • Engage with users: Respond to questions and feature requests
